In terms of the South African Bill of Rights everyone has a right to life, equality and human dignity.
The Department of Human Settlements and Public Works held a session with the Disability Sector where a number of resolutions were taken.
One of the resolutions was to develop an application that will enable the Disability sector to have access to opportunities offered by Departments and the sector to upload information on skills and qualifications for profiling.The Department of Public Works and Human Settlements therefore approached SITA as part of the existing business agreements to assist with the development of a Web/Mobile Application that will primarily enable all disabled people to access opportunities offered by the departments.a)    Developmental programmes;b)    Employment programmes; and c)    Economic empowerment opportunities. Objectivea)    To provide effective service delivery to the citizens with disability by Providing an online solution that is accessible anytime, at their convenience;b)    To have an effective communication platform with citizens from the disability sector;c)    Reduction of human intervention;d)    Reduce average time for capturing application;e)    Provide guidance and information to ensure that disability sector has access to opportunities; and f)    Management information to support business decisions.
